| Primeval: still dead in UK, might be reborn in the US |

WITH the third and final season of Primeval out on DVD, fans are waiting for news on plans to stop the show becoming totally extinct.
Impossible Pictures, which makes the dino-drama, had sold the movie rights to Warner Bros and has also been in talks for a US version of the series.
The show was screened in the UK on ITV1 until it was axed last month.
Impossible founder Tim Haines has clarified the reasons for its cancellation and has also explained what they have in mind for the American version.
Haines was speaking in a recent article in Broadcast Now, which has just been drawn to my attention.
He said: "There was a lot of talk when Primeval was cancelled that it must have been because it is a big show, with lots of CGI and special effects.
"That's not the case. ITV wasn't paying the whole costs anyway but we offered to lower the price further and bring in 50 per cent of the funding with co-production deals. It would still have been been getting a show worth more than £1million for less than £600,000."

i'm not sure if this is startling or not but i have absolutely no problem drinking an entire fifth of vodka in one evening when im partying.
i always suspected i had the ability to easily become a junkie or a lush, but there is no point to being into drugs. they are fun, sure, but most people can't handle them. even the best. being a lush, however is another beast entirely. im not sure i don't know many people who wouldnt be considered "an alcoholic." ive gotten to a point in my life where im like, "whatever if i dont party this day who cares" but i definitely raw dog it when i am drinking. i generally (if i dont drink shots) can house some booze. ive always been good at drinking, but i notice that im like the most upper tier of the womanly drunk. tang and tonics; martinis; long islands; cape cods. its like, get that malibu baybreeze shit out of my face; i want 100% proof and i want the ride to get nasty. old grandad; jack daniels; absolut- i went through this tequilla phase last summer and it was like my clothes always came off, i always ended up in some sexy ass scenerio, and wouldnt remember how i got in the predicament but it would rush back throughout the day.
i miss being a totally hapless drunk; too many work hours and not enough cash to do all the other expensive shit i like in my life. im sure if i really committed though i could get it all paid for, but i just hate socializing with 97% of the world.
sometimes i wonder if it all even matters.
i hope they legalize pot. it would solve the health care debt $ crisis in about 1 year, i bet

I know Time Warner's available in my area but I've heard some not-so-nice things about them. And, yeah, Fios isn't available here at all.
Are there any other companies to try?

While Supernatural season five has been given a USA airdate of September 10, there is uncertainty over whether the next instalment of the demon-slaying drama will be shown in the UK. Ratings have continued to rise and awards are starting to pour in for the show and its two leads, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, but UK digital channel ITV2 has, at this point, not picked up the next season.

I think it's probably too early to really be worried about this, but I will rage like a mother effer if they actually fail to pick it up. About Jared and G.I. Joe though, I have to say - if it's true - I'm kind of glad. The movie looks awful. Boy needs to recognise that nobody gets famous by covering themselves in shit. Except for that kid from Slumdog Millionaire, I guess.

8-year-old Willow Smith is set to make her television debut in Nickelodeon’s “True Jackson VP” on July 25th. As the daughter of two movie stars, Willow is certainly no stranger to the big screen. However, this will be the young star’s first time on the small screen.
“I like TV because they laugh and then I laugh and then I do it again,” Willow explained of her television debut to Access Hollywood. “It’s a big happy family.”
“I really want to do this again because it’s really, really easy to work and have fun at the same time,” she said.
Willow’s dad, actor Will Smith, has even given his daughter some few tips.
“He’s giving me advice like ‘ Willow, stay in the moment! You have this, you got it down. Just stay in the moment. OK, now go out there and kill it,’” she revealed to Access Hollywood.
Willow will play a younger version of Keke’s character, True Jackson, in the upcoming episode.

| TLC sets obesity reality series |

The network behind "Little People, Big World" is taking on another group of people who don't quite fit in the regular society.
TLC has ordered a six-episode series that chronicles the lives of a morbidly obese family facing everyday realities.
The half-hour docu series, tentatively titled "One Big Happy Family," hails from RDF USA, whose senior vp development and current Mike Duffy created the show.
He drew on his own experience.
"Growing up, we had a problem with obesity, and I know how it feels to be fat," Duffy said.
Duffy's inspiration is his father who, at age 60, lost 200 pounds.
"That changed the entire dynamic of my family," he said. Obesity is always is a family issue, but "watching television, it occurred to me that there is a void for programming where we deal with obesity in the family unit," he added.
Duffy, who is exec producing "One Big Happy Family" with RDF's Chris Coelen and showrunner Julia Silverton, set out to find a family who wanted to make a change in their lives and found it just outside of Charlotte, N.C.
The family to be chronicled on the show consists of a 40-year-old man weighing 340 pounds; his 35-year-old wife, who is close to 400 pounds; and their 330- and 340-pound teenage kids.
The documentary will tell each of their stories in first-person, with a special attention on the children, a boy and a girl.
"High school is hard enough to deal with -- imagine what it would be like to be morbidly obese," Duffy said.
He dismissed suggestions that the series might be exploitative.
"This is a very loving family," he said. "They are dedicated to losing the weight because they communicate as well as love each other so much."
But in trying to drop the pounds, they will rely on each other.
"This is not a game show where contestants have TV trainers and obesity specialists everyday as they are competing for a $250,000 prize," Duffy said, referring to NBC's popular reality series "The Biggest Loser."
He compared "One Big Happy Family" to "Little People, Big World."
" 'Little People, Big World' is about little people living in a big world. This is about big people living in a little world -- fat people living in a skinny world," Duffy said.

The new commercial for the new season of Australian Idol premiered on Channel 10 featuring all the new contestants. The commercial features them portraying legends in the music industry such as, Guns N Roses, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Elvis, Prince, The Supremes, and Christina Aguilera while singing emotions. The Show is scheduled to premiere next month in August exclusively to Channel 10. The names of the contestants have not yet been revealed but the commercial is airing now on television.  Britney does not appreciate not being portrayed in this commercial and has cancelled all her Australian tour dates.  Beyonce dgaf but deep down girl we know you is hurting.

GWYNETH PALTROW is reportedly seething after movie bigwigs favoured Iron Man 2 co-star SCARLETT JOHANSSON over her for the movie's promo pics. The actress - who returns as the superhero's PA Pepper Potts in the sequel - is said to be angry that new recruit Johansson is stealing her limelight.
Gwyneth is nowhere to be seen as stars ROBERT DOWNEY JR, MICKEY ROURKE and Johansson pose for publicity shots in character. A source told a paper: "Gwyneth was afraid she'd be upstaged by Scarlett and not being in the campaign was the final straw. "She is furious she's been left out."
However, a spokesman for the Oscar winner was quick to quash rumours. He said: "She was not at all upset. The fans will get to see more of Pepper Potts as we get closer to the film's release next May."
It's not the first time reports have surfaced of friction between Gwyneth and Scarlett. In May we revealed that sparks were flying between the pair following reports Gwyneth had grown tired of Scarlett's demands on set.

Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way are moving ahead on a Twilight Zone movie, hiring Rand Ravich to write a script based on the iconic TV series.
Ravich's feature credits include directing The Astronaut's Wife and executive producing Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. He also created NBC's detective series "Life."
The original "Twilight Zone" series ran for five seasons starting in 1959 on CBS, with Rod Serling creating the series and writing more than half of the 156 episodes. Steven Spielberg and John Landis produced and directed segments for the 1983 WB feature film, Twilight Zone: The Movie.

When Hailey Glassman arrived at her parents home in New City, N.Y., on May 4 for an early Mother's Day surprise, she had a surprise of her own: Jon Gosselin, star of Jon & Kate Plus 8, was staying there.
Why? Gosselin, 32, a family friend since Hailey's father, plastic surgeon Lawrence Glassman, performed Kate Gosselin's tummy tuck operation following the birth of her sextuplets, was trying to escape the tensions at the home he shared with Kate in Wernersville, Pa.
According to a source close to Jon Gosselin, "Jon was heartbroken, totally heartbroken. Kate told him to take a hike."
The source says Jon and Hailey, already acquaintances, began their romance only after Kate filed for divorce on June 20.
According to the source. although the public did not know it, Jon and Kate actually split up late last year: "She said she wanted her life. She said she was done. It came out of the blue."
Soon afterwards, Jon moved out of the couple's bedroom and slept elsewhere in the house – and started going out to clubs and bars.
Reporters spotted him out with 23-year-old teacher Deanna Hummer last spring, but there was never an affair between the two, the Jon source insists. As the trouble at home grew unavoidable, Jon moved out of the main house and into the apartment above the Gosselin's three-car garage.
Today, Jon and Kate talk to each other only about their kids, the source says. And now that Jon has rented an apartment in New York City, says the source, expect to see Glassman and Gosselin spending time together in Manhattan.

| Britney Spears death threats prompt fears ahead of Moscow concert |

Britney Spears has decided not to bring her sons along for a brief tour stop in Russia this week after being inundated with death-threats via e-mail in recent weeks.
“Originally, both boys were to accompany Britney but she was against taking them because of these constant threats,” a tour spokesman has revealed to The Sun Saturday.
As a precautionary measure, Britney will apparently avoid staying in Russia. She will instead spend the night in nearby Finland and fly into the nation for the two concerts in St Petersburg and Moscow next week.
Sons Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, will remain in London with family members until their mother’s return.

Kim has been tipped as the next big thing in Britain where her music is particularly popular.
Her new single ‘Die For You’ is the hottest tune on the UK's airwaves.
But at 16 she became the youngest person ever to have undergone a complete sex change and now Kim, or Tim as she used to be known, has attracted the interest of the British tabloids.
She told ‘BILD’ “The calls came all of a sudden. I am really well known in England. Meanwhile the paparazzi started camping outside my hotel door.”
Kim first recieved attention when she uploaded a music video onto MySpace in 2007. A year later she released her debut single ‘Last Forever’, but it is her unusual life story which has caught the public’s imagination.
Tim knew early on in life that she was really a Kim!
The schoolgirl from Bonn started hormone therapy three years ago. Her parents supported her, but not everyone had sympathy for the teenager who felt she was born in the wrong body.
She relates some of her experiences and anxieties in her songs.
She said: “Earlier at school people said stupid stuff all the time. But it’s different now. I’ve moved to a private school.”
In October 2008 she completed the final big step in the sex change procedure. “The complete transformation is behind me now. Since then I am an actual girl.”
And what about her love life? “I’ve been in love with boys since I first started school, but at the moment I am single.”

Britney Spears Performs her First Russian Concert
SAINT PETERSBURG: Pop princess Britney Spears performed yesterday her first concert in Russia when she takes her “Circus” tour to Saint Petersburg, part of the singer’s first major tour in years, organisers said.
“There’s a huge interest in the concert,” said Marianna Lyubina, a spokeswoman for Saint Petersburg-based Planeta-Plyus promotion company. Ticket prices range from 1,500 rubles ($47) to 25,000 rubles (786 dollars) and the most expensive and cheapest tickets were sold out fastest, said Lyubina.
“The Circus starring Britney Spears” tour got under way in New Orleans in March, the singer’s first major tour in five years.
“I always wanted to hear her and most importantly see her live,” said Saint Petersburger Yulia Ilyinskaya, who plans to attend the Sunday evening concert with her husband Boris.
“She’s such a symbol of pop music, almost like Madonna and the late Michael Jackson,” she added. Spears will arrive in Saint Petersburg to play a one-and-a-half-hour concert for an audience of some 15,000 in Russia’s former imperial capital and will leave immediately after, Lyubina added.

We could soon be seeing a whole new side to Lindsay Lohan.
Both the UK and US versions of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me out of Here! are desperate to sign the wild party girl as a contestant for the next series of their shows.
A source tells British tabloid 'The Mirror': "Lindsay's the perfect person for a reality show like I'm A Celeb. She's young, fallen and there's an element of tragedy in her life. Most people who go on the show are in need of a healthy pay cheque and also want to raise their careers from the dead. Lindsay is perfect fodder for the show."
The UK version has just started working on recruiting the new line-up and names in the mix so far include Samantha Fox and Brian Blessed. Meanwhile the US version, hosted by the UK's very own Myleene Klass, is approaching Lindsay's people to try to tempt her into the Costa Rican jungle at the start of next year.
The source adds: "This could potentially net her up to £250,000. She could certainly do with the money."
A rep for Lohan has dismissed reports saying she's "not interested".
